The DDR500+ memory module, the first product in the Vitesta Extreme Edition Series, is made with carefully selected dies combined with a red aluminum heat-spreader plate. The red heat-spreader contributes to the Extreme Edition’s striking visual appearance; more importantly, it substantially improves heat dissipation, ensuring that the DDR500+ combines extreme performance with high stability. The 500MHz clock speed enables DDR500+ to support a data transmission rate of 4GB/s, which can be increased to 8GB/s through the use of dual-channel motherboard architecture, giving a further boost to system performance.
The DDR500+ combines high clock speed with a low timing rate. 3(CL)-4(tRCD)-4(tRP)-8(tRAS) timing rate specifications and 1T Command Rate provide the behind-the-scenes support that gives the Extreme Edition DDR500+ such high performance. Of course, to get the most out of the DDR500+, users need to enter BIOS setup to adjust the memory parameters carefully according to the instructions provided in the user manual; additional hints for improving performance are provided on the A-DATA website.
The DDR500+ uses 64x8 die layout. With 1GB of memory capacity, it is able to support a wide range of memory-hungry software types. Responding to the growing popularity of dual-channel motherboards, the Extreme Edition memory modules are also available in dual-channel kits to provide the best possible stability for dual-channel operation.
